Christmas Carol Performances and Concerts in Preston 2024

Get into the Christmas spirit with traditional carols this season.

Tis the season to be jolly, so why not get into the festive mood with some traditional feel good Christmas carols. Whether you fancy stopping by and listening to some Yuletide classics during the day or would prefer to make an evening of it, there's plenty of performances and concerts taking place across a host of fantastic indoor and outdoor venues. So rally together your friends and family, grab a mulled wine and mince pie or two and enjoy the festive season with some sensational sounds of Christmas.

Preston Concert Band's Christmas Concert

Location - St Michael's and All Angels Church
Date/time - Thursday 12 December (7:30pm - 9:30pm)
Cost -  £5

Come along and enjoy a heart-warming Christmas concert with Preston Concert Band. This event is part of the Christmas Tree Festival from the 12 December to the 15 of December at the church with the festival taking place earlier in the day, including Christmas card making workshop and plenty of fun for all the family.

Carol singers at Preston Markets

Location - Preston Markets
Date/time - Saturday 14 December (various times throughout the day)
Cost -  free

Join Preston Markets for a very traditional afternoon of festivities featuring Victorian carol singers and the big man in the red suit.

Last year there was such fantastic feedback about the Victorian carol singers, they have decided to bring them back for another year.

They'll be bringing Christmas cheer, whilst Santa hands out free gifts in his Grotto.

Winckley Christmas Concert

Location - Winckley Square
Date/time - Sunday 15 December (3pm - 5:30pm)
Cost -  Free

Experience the magic of Winckley Square Christmas, a concert and talk that promises to transform Preston's historic square into a winter wonderland!

Join in traditional Christmas Carols around the Christmas Tree with St Stephens choir, plus Preston Strummers, who will play lots of songs to sing-a-long to, and the wonderful sounds of Kenny on bagpipes.

Meet up with friends and family and enjoy the entertainment with mulled wine, mince pies, parched peas, hotdogs and much more from their food stalls and pop up licensed bar.

Traditional carols to Christmas chart topping hits from Brass Half Empty

Location - Chew's Yard
Date/time - Sunday 22 December (from 2pm)
Cost -  Donations (Just Giving - Brass Half Empty)

Playing traditional carols to Christmas chart-topping hits, there is guaranteed to be music for everyone to enjoy. So, come along, get into the festive spirit with Brass Half Empty and raise some money for the fabulous Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.

Carols at the Conti

Location - The Continental
Date/time - Sunday 22 December (8pm - 10pm)
Cost -  Free

Continuing a highly popular Continental tradition, St Stephen's Choir join The Conti once again for an evening of Carol Singing.

Weather permitting, the event will be held outside in the Beer Garden and they'll be serving mulled wine outside. The bar will be open as normal.

Traditional Festive Carols

Location - Hoghton Tower
Date/time - Sunday 22 December (3:30pm - 4:30pm)
Cost - £8.50 per person (all ages, babies in arms are free but will require a ticket)

What better way to welcome Christmas than listening to traditional Christmas Carols performed by Hoghton in Harmony choir by a roaring fire at Hoghton Towers beautiful Banqueting Hall.

Location - Preston Minster
