These are the terms and conditions for use of the website Visit Preston. The website is maintained by Preston City Council (The Council) for information and communication purposes.

Preston City Council does not grant anyone any rights to re-use images.

The use of any of Preston City Council's logos on any document or in association with any information, signifies that the document or information has been prepared or approved by Preston City Council.  

The logos are used only on materials generated by Preston City Council or where Preston City Council has elected to work in collaboration with another or multiple organisations.

Use of any of Preston City Council's logos without Preston City Council's consent is an infringement of copyright. No permission will be granted for the use of the logos nor will reproduction of the logo in any form be allowed unless Preston City Council determines that:

  • the material on which the logos is to be used and
  • the use of the logos on such material has been expressly approved by Preston City Council

Events - What's On Guide

To submit your event to the Visit Preston team, please complete our online form, giving us as much information as possible. Once your event has been submitted it will be reviewed and either accepted and uploaded or, if we do not feel the event is relevant, we will email you and explain why, we may also ask for additional information.

Please note that event submissions can take up to 2 weeks to process, so please allow for this when submitting.

All events must be in and around the Preston area.

Any material and events you upload to our Site will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary, and we have the right to use, copy, distribute and disclose to third parties any such material for any purpose.

We also have the right to disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any material posted or uploaded by you to our Site constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights, or of their right to privacy.

We will not be responsible, or liable to any third party, for the content or accuracy of any materials posted by you or any other user of our Site.

Photo Gallery

Submission of images to this website is open to all. If you think you have a good image of Preston or surrounding areas please email webmanager@preston.gov.uk.

Photos should be submitted by and labelled with the entrant's name and image files, which must be 72 dpi, be at least 750 pixels wide and between 1MB and 3MB.

Entrants should include their own name and email address, we regret we will not be able to use any images supplied to us smaller than the stated size.  

All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them.  It is the responsibility of each person submitting an image to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws.

The person submitting an image must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.  Any images submitted overprinted with text such as names or email address will not be published.

You may submit as many images you like, but Visit Preston reserves the right not to publish any unsuitable material.

The best images submitted will feature on the photo gallery page of Visit Preston.

Mapping

The Ordnance Survey mapping included within this website is provided by Preston City Council under licence from the Ordnance Survey in order to fulfil its public function to make available council held public domain information.

Persons viewing this mapping should contact Ordnance Survey copyright for advice where they wish to licence Ordnance Survey mapping/map data for their own use.

Third party websites

Visit Preston website provides links to other external sites we think you may find useful. If you choose to use these sites, you will leave this site, and different privacy protection and other policies will apply according to the site visited.
