Preston Markets effortlessly combines the city's long-established and traditional traders with new and contemporary stalls and cafés. The result is a one-stop location for fresh local food, a great mix of independent shops and some fantastic places to eat and drink - all wrapped up with a friendly Northern atmosphere.

Market Hall

Preston's Market Hall offers an abundance of fresh and local Lancashire produce, on top of cafés and independent shops.

After fresh and local produce? Then look no further. Market Hall is jam-packed with traders selling fresh meat, fish, cheese, bread, vegetables, fruit, and dairy products - basically,  everything you need in one convenient location.

You will also find a selection of goods including hair and beauty products, shoes, bags, jewellery, mobile phones and accessories.

Eat and drink

Take a relaxing coffee break, tuck into a tasty cake or, why not, treat yourself to a spot of lunch. Market Hall has a variety of places to unwind in, where you can enjoy quality food and drink. Whether you're after a quick refreshment, a bite to eat or full English breakfast, the Market Hall is the place to go. 

There are also plenty of take away options, ideal for lunch breaks or to take home with you.

Cosy craft beer bar

A warm welcome awaits you at The Orchard craft beer bar. Located in a cosy corner of Preston's market hall, this hidden gem has 10 keg lines, 3 cask beers and an excellent selection of wines, prosecco, cider and spirits.

Live music

Box Market

The Box Market, opposite the Market Hall, is made up of an assortment of independent traders occupying upgraded shipping containers. Taking inspiration from well-known markets in London, these containers offer visitors a unique contemporary shopping space unlike anywhere else in the North-West. 

Here, you will find traders selling locally brewed ales to takeaway, pet supplies, vintage bric-a-brac, records and bedding.

Eat and drink

When at the Box Market make sure to pay Jonah's  a visit. Sit in or take away, Jonah's serves artisan coffee that combines flavour with the caffeine boost you crave. The box café also serves breakfast, cakes, snacks, and thirst-quenching drinks.

Preston Outdoor Market

Your favourite outdoor traders can be found under the restored 1875 Market Canopy. You'll find a wide selection of goods from clothes, books, and cards to candles, gifts, plants, flowers and more.

  • Monday: 8am - 3pm
  • Wednesday: 8am - 3pm 
  • Friday: 8am - 3pm
  • Saturday: 8am - 3pm

Second-hand Market

Selling an abundance of goods under the 1875 Market canopy, make sure you get there early to snap up some bargains!

Opening times

  • Tuesday: 8am - 3pm
  • Thursday: 8am - 3pm (mixed market - selling second hand and new items)
