Your ultimate guide to Preston's spring and summer festivals

The weather isn't the only thing hotting up in Preston this spring and summer. With a sizzling line up of festivals, the city's what's on calendar is brimming with a host of music events which will keep you entertained right through to September.

Kicking off with Market Street Social Bank Holiday Block Party, bringing you the best in House, Soul, Reggae, Electronica, Disco, African, Hip-Hop, Latin and Jazz. Here on, expect rolling festival vibes with back-to-back festivities taking place throughout the summer period. From The Preston Bank Holiday Weekender, featuring global superstar DJ Pete Tong, to  RockPrest, the UK's largest tribute festival, and Glastonferret - all offering top notch bands for music lovers.

So, dust off those sunnies and start planning this year's outfits, as festival season is upon us.

Once again, it's back. After 2 highly successful events in 2024, Market Street Social Block Party is back for a Bank Holiday special. Underground sounds across 3 venues on Market Street West with a selection of DJs and soundsystems bringing you the best in House, Soul, Reggae, Electronica, Disco, African, Hip-Hop, Latin and Jazz.

The Preston Bank Holiday Weekender 2025 - Flag Market

Global superstar Pete Tong, and one of the UKs biggest bands of the 90s, Embrace, are to headline this year's 'Preston Weekender'.

The May Bank Holiday bonanza will also feature incredible support artists, and the best talent from the region.

Saturday night sees legendary DJ Pete Tong takes to the decks with a big bag of Balearic classics for an unforgettable party, with an exclusive two-hour set, in his only northern performance of the spring and summer.  He'll be supported by 'No.1 House DJ of 2024' Sam Divine.

On Sunday, multi-million selling Embrace will headline the band-led part of The Weekender, with support from the epic Elvis-fronted Nirvana band, Elvana, and Ferocious Dog, fresh from their recent headlining tour of the UK.

One Park Living Legends Festival - Moor Park

Get ready for an unmissable celebration of reggae music on Moor Park, Preston, brought to you by the Preston Caribbean Carnival team.

Whether you're looking for an affordable day out or an exclusive backstage experience, there's something for everyone!

Caribbean Carnival 2025 - Moor Park

Date/time - Sunday 25 May 2025 (1pm - 7:30pm)
Cost - free

2025 will be the 51st Caribbean Carnival in Preston and is planned to be bigger and better than before including a vibrant, colourful procession through the city centre!

Participants will wear large costume pieces from the last 51 years and will dance, drum and wind their way along the route.

Celebrating the flamboyant, creative Caribbean culture within our city, it is a great day out for all the family and the procession is followed by a Caribbean themed family fun day on Moor Park. The park includes live performances throughout the afternoon, sound systems, Caribbean and international food stalls, and a bar serving a selection of drinks.

There will be lots of children's activities, including face painting, creative making sessions, football sessions, rides and inflatables!

Jazzin' the Park 2025 - Winckley Square

Jazzin' the Park is a free live music event that brings together diversity and community through music and art. 

Situated in the beautiful surroundings of Winckley Square, the event is part of The Preston Jazz and Improvisational Festival and takes place annually, curating some of the finest local, national and international, Jazz and Jazz-fused artists.

With support from Arts Council England, Preston Jazz and Improvisation Festival, Jazzin the Park Productions, University of Central Lancashire, Friends of Winckley Square, Preston City Council and the Festival of Music and Culture, Jazzin' The Park is a final event designed by the community for the community, with help from our business sponsors, Blue Wren and Winckley Stays.

Windrush Festival 77 - Avenham and Miller Parks

Date/time - Sunday 22 June 2025 (11am - 6pm)
Cost - free

With a jammed packed schedule from 12pm to 8pm, Windrush 77 promises to be bigger and better than ever, bringing all the colour, good vibes and soulful music of the Caribbean, celebrating the city's African-Caribbean and mixed-race community.

Throughout the day visitors will enjoy live music and DJ sets, dancing, a live cricket match, a selection of non-food stalls, children's play area, a wide selection of international cuisines including tastes of the Caribbean.

RockPrest 2025 - Moor Park

After last year's incredible 10th-anniversary celebration, Rockprest are back and ready to make 2025 their biggest and best year yet!

Now in its eleventh year, Rockprest will bring three stages of outstanding tribute acts to Moor Park, Preston.

Enjoy fairground rides, food and drink, and of course, your favourite rock songs performed by outstanding tribute acts!

The Lancashire Festival 2025 - Avenham and Miller Parks

The Lancashire Festival is back for its sixth year, bringing an incredible line-up of live music, circus performances, dance, and thrilling entertainment to Miller Park on Saturday 19 July.

A truly grassroots festival, this independent event remains entirely self-funded, with no support from local councils or organisations despite its ongoing dedication to championing local artists and performers. While significant funding is being directed towards acts from outside the region, The Lancashire Festival remains steadfast in its mission to highlight the incredible talent within the county.

Glastonferret 2025 - The Ferret

The Original Indoor Turfed Festival! The legendary Glastonferret is back for 2025! Their annual 4-day festival of live music, real turf & hay bales, and good times. With festival decor, food vendors, craft & vintage stalls, beer garden DJ Sessions, late-night after parties, and of course a 4-day line-up of incredible live music.
