Walk through the historical transitions of this spectacular cottage. Located in Broughton, Preston, Church Cottage Museum makes an enriching day out for history and culture lovers.
Church Cottage Museum tells the story of the building's journey from a Tudor dwelling within an agricultural society, to becoming a 20th century home. The cottage was initially built in the 1500s, and has lived its life as an inn during the late 1600s and 1700s as well as a Victorian school room. It was then restored in 1994 and officially opened as a museum by Princess Alexandra in 1995.
The exhibits within the museum include:
- The 'Peasants Hovel' and Sleeping Gallery

- Cart Shed and Cottage Garden

If you're looking for a venue with some character and charm then Church Cottage Museum is available to hire for themed Tudor and Victorian evenings. The organised events include dinners for parties up to 12.
